postpartum closing ritual for the woman to be supported and the transition to motherhood be honored.

Rebozo Closing Ritual

Also called Cerrada de Caderas or Closing of the Bones

A person is between realms as they open themselves to become the giver of life.  Her work was at the gate of the circle of life. This ceremony is to bring them back energetically to their body and give closure to the transition into motherhood.

With love and respect for the lineages of women and people who have kept this knowledge alive, I am committed to the practice that it takes to maintain the integrity of what has been passed down to me.

With permission of traditional indigenous practitioners, I offer this ritual to my community. It is done in beauty and reverence for the right of passage the person and baby just went through.

THE INTENSION OF THE CLOSING

This ritual is intended to mark and/or close phases of life, such as the first 40 days after the birth of a child, menopause, divorces, changing jobs, moving, etc. It is a somatic practice that grounds the person in challenging times or through life transitions. It also regulates the nervous system and helps integrate challenging life experiences. It is a calming therapeutic body work that supports and regulates the nervous system of the person, and can be of great service for integrating grief or trauma.
